How do you explain the difference in the calculated length factor between a cantilever beam and a cantilever column?

The cantilever beams are calculated with a length factor of 1.0 and the cantilever columns with a length factor of 2.0. The columns are compression bending members, or simply compression, and have to be considered with a stability factor, so they are taken as 2. The beams are subjected to bending, so that should be the difference.
